Robin has a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by early stage businesses as they commercialise their intellectual property having worked with over 20 start-ups as director, mentor capitalist or general manager. He has a particular interest in envirotech and biotech businesses although most of his commercialisation work has been with ITC and e-businesses.
Robin is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and prior to his consulting career worked in business assurance, corporate finance, turnaround and forensic services for Price Waterhouse in London and Sydney.
Robin is a Partner in a start-up Private Equity firm: CoVEST Capital and has 25 years of experience as a strategy consultant, interim executive and programme director with clients through-out Asia-Pacific ranging from technology start-ups to global corporates. During this period, Robin built his own venture catalyst and consulting business engaged in commercialisation, business development, product/service development and strategic marketing. This followed a successful career through to Principal level in top tier consulting firms: Price Waterhouse Urwick (now PwC), Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and IBM Consulting.
Robin has a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol; an MBA from City University London and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Robin coaches and mentors Patentec patent applicants in the effective commercialisation of their intellectual property.
